Dyed Window Film
Dyed window film is very popular among many auto owners. This type of tint is the darkest on the market and is not reflective. It works very well at blocking out ultra-violet rays and prevents the interior of vehicles from fading due to exposure to strong sunlight.
Dyed window film does not affect radio antennas that are inside the windshield. It also blocks out the glare from the headlights of other motorists, and it more cost efficient than other types of window tinting.
Metalized Window Film
Metalized window film has a metalized top layer that reflects sunlight away from your windshield. By reflecting the sunlight, metalized window film works very well at blocking out heat before it comes into the car. This window tint also works great at blocking out glare and UV rays.
Metalized window film is a very durable type of window tint, therefore it does not fade or wear away even though it is constantly exposed to bright sunlight and heat during hot weather. However, some brands of metalized window film are a bit more expensive than dyed window film.
Hybrid Tinting Film
Hybrid tinting film has the advantages of both metalized window film and dyed window film. Because it does contain metal, it works wonderfully at reflecting both light and heat of the sun away from the windshield. However, it has less metal than standard metalized film, which means it does not give the windshield a reflective appearance.
Less metal also means that it does not block radio and cell phone signals. This film is strong and durable, does not fade and is excellent for blocking out both glare and ultra-violet rays. Another advantage is that hybrid tinting film is also less expensive than standard metalized window film.
The type and thickness of window tinting that is allowed on your vehicle depends on which state you reside in. Each state has certain laws and regulations about how automobile windows can be tinted. It is a good idea to find out what the rules are concerning window tinting in your state before having it installed on your vehicle.
